Experts from the world's leading e-commerce platform Shopify shared how they see the future of e-commerce in 2023.
What to prepare for? How to build interaction with clients and why it is worth planning larger advertising budgets for the coming year.
Will the market grow?
Definitely. Despite all the "crisis prophecies" and the decline in purchasing power.

Three main trends
1. Consumers demand personalization
At the same time, tightening laws on the protection of personal data are forcing on page seo service companies to refuse third-party cookies. They have long been blocked by Apple and Firefox. The main "supplier of user information" Google promised to join them by the end of 2023.
Note: cookies are used to store personal settings and preferences of the buyer, their identification. Based on this data, targeted and contextual advertising is configured. The ban on the use of third-party cookies actually means that companies will receive less information about customers and advertising will become less relevant.
What to do? Collect user information directly from potential buyers with their consent.
44% of Shopify respondents are willing to provide personal information to receive relevant content and offers. But this only applies to cases where there is already a certain level of trust between the brand and the user.
2. Brand building as a basis for marketing strategy
Advertising costs are increasingly less effective: the cost per click is growing disproportionately to reach. That's why marketers recommend changing course from short-term, measurable, and quick results to long-term priorities. A strong brand is the foundation for sustainable growth.
3. E-commerce continues to migrate to social media platforms
In 2023, the trend for video content moves to a new level. Users expect more direct and intimate "communication", and not just beautiful reviews. Live broadcasts and Live chats are a priority.
